Amateur League round one squad report - season IX (6.7.2003)
AML right after the third preseason round

7rominence
Preseason record: 0-3
Victories against: NONE
Losses to: Corrupt (2-12), ElementalForces (5-12), Tweaked (3-12)
Friendly MVPs: NONE

Comments: 7rominence is a fairly old war zone squad that's now entering the great plains of 4v4 league. As an ex-warzone player, I know a couple of players from their squad ... by name. The squad's performances in preseason were far from stellar. They started off by losing to another war zone squad, Corrupt, with the score 2-12. Their second round match was against ElementalForces, a match which resulted a 5-12 loss to 7rominence. On the third round they lost 3-12 to Tweaked. The bad thing is that their gameplay was far from convincing throughout the pre-season, but perhaps they'll get a little more organized during the long regular season. The most notable players on the squad are without doubt the captain Fishibaron, who has clocked a lot of league hours in squads such as Betrayal, rzrskater is also a relatively familiar name and Fuzzylogic too. I fear that 7rominence is looking at a tough first season in AML. I hope they can handle it and become a better squad for future seasons.

Prediction for the season: At best they might challenge for the last playoff spots, but more likely to struggle near the bottom of the league.

Ideal starting lineup: Fishibaron, rzrskater, Lightnin-wzl, silly_n00b

Afterglow
Preseason record: 1-2
Victories against: Alcoholism (8-2)
Losses to: Wretcheds (6-12), Epik (8-12)
Friendly MVPs: (unknown)

Comments: Afterglow is a brand-new squad made of seasoned league veterans from all leagues. The squad was at first formed with a "only german players" -attitude, but I don't know what's happened since. I've studied some German back at school, I wonder if they'd recruit me...? Anyways, people who have followed AML for the past seasons should recognize krell (ex-Heaven), Medicus (ex-Ferrum), Pvc (ex-StarFire Elite), Sagum (ex-Blasphemy) and Zash (ex-Ferrum too) from the roster and Something Dutch too. Lord Lincke was also ?squadjoined to Afterglow earlier, so he might be one of the aliased pilots. Afterglow has a roster of eleven players and that might brew some problems during the long season. Their preseason was a small rollercoaster ride, as they beat Alcoholism 8-2 in a good match, but then lost to Wretcheds with the score 6-12 and finally to Epik 8-12. Well, preseason's just preseason and I think Afterglow will be fighting around the playoff line for a spot in the top 16.

Prediction for the season: Close to the ranks between 14th and 18th. Most likely a playoff round one squad.

Ideal starting lineup: krell, Sagum, Something Dutch, Luthar

Alcoholism
Preseason record: 2-1
Victories against: Blitzed (12-9), Bunner (12-1)
Losses to: Afterglow (2-8)
Friendly MVPs: Grinder 6:3, Grinder 4:0

Comments: If I'm not mistaken, this is Alcoholism's third season in AML. I think the squad suprised a lot of people by recording a positive preseason record. Meditation has captained this squad well with a relatively small roster for a couple of seasons with a bit of success, but so many good stories, I'm sure. This season looks a lot like season eight for Alcoholism. They have a roster that'll potentially take them to the playoffs. They have to capitalize in the matches against the squads around the same level to reach that playoff spot, so every point is worth a lot. Beating Blitzed 12-9 in preseason showed that Alcoholism's capable of winning against good squads. And what makes the victory worth even more, is that Blitzed fielded a fairly good lineup by anyone's standards. Alcoholism didn't do quite as well against Afterglow with a 2-8 loss. A 12-1 victory against Bunner was with a slightly bigger marginal than I had expected. The squad's roster is fairly solid with experienced players like the captains Meditation and Lord Schnitzel. Seal was a deciding factor in some matches last season and Big Brother and Recreance are two promising players. Of course I Got Game and Grinder also deserve a mention. Alcoholism has a chance to make the playoffs this season. We'll see how they fare. They were so close last season, they've improved steadily and this would be the season to take the next step.

Prediction for the season: A good chance of making the playoffs around seeds 13-16, or maybe just under the playoff line.

Ideal starting lineup: Seal, Meditation, Grinder, Big Brother

arwing
Preseason record: 1-2
Victories against: Money $hot (9-1)
Losses to: Birds of Prey (0-12), Bunner (0-1, forfeit)
Friendly MVPs: bad2 5:1

Comments: So many bad comments have been made about arwing, mostly about getting beaten down and exiting league after a couple of rounds every season. Well, I see no point in that. The squad was on a massive recruitment spree before preseason round one, but they've only rounded up twelve players for their roster. They've recruited Sephiroth, who's of course widely known for his work for league and captaining Disavowed for the past seasons. He didn't look too good in the first preseason match with a quick 0:2, but I hope he'll get back on his game, as this squad really needs an experienced on-field leader. Flag's a player who I've seen play some decent pracs and bad2, the current captain, can stay alive relatively well. Their preseason has been bad, with a 0-12 loss to Birds of Prey to start things off and then a noshow loss against Bunner. Their lack of teamwork against Birds of Prey was a disappointement, but things seemed a little better against the rookies of Money $hot, as arwing pulled off a 9-1 victory. Hopefully arwing's looking forward to a decent season with some suprise victories. They've got the talent needed to score some unexpected success.

Prediction for the season: Hopefully they won't noshow out of the league. Near the bottom of the league with a couple of good victories.

Ideal starting lineup: bad2, Flag, Sephiroth, PeelBoy

Assent
Preseason record: 1-2
Victories against: Thalion (12-7)
Losses to: StarFire Elite (4-12), Happy Mob (7-12)
Friendly MVPs: BESTMAN 4 8:1

Comments: Well, last season's champions make a comeback by spreading between their AML and IML squads. Assent (and the captain, Entertainment) has been the target of so many obsessed "this defeats the purpose of Premier league" posts on the forums as of late, and I really don't know who's right ... anyways, Assent is now in AML and with a relatively new roster. I could be rude and say that only BESTMAN 4 of the squad's new recruits is real league-caliber. Pilots like Addiction King, Aggro, Chronic, Glamourous, Guardian and Soul Preacher are of course known to the league scene from squads like Warlords and Prevail, so the squad's still got a lot of league experience to rely on. They've been far from solid during the preseason with a 4-12 loss to StarFire Elite and a 12-7 victory over Thalion in a close game and finally a 7-12 loss to Happy Mob. Of course preseason's just preseason, and you can expect a lot more from this squad during the regular season. They're obviously playoff prone, but the loss of the squad's starting lineup from last season will have an effect in the playoffs, where Assent'll be eliminated by a stronger squad. You can expect a couple of big victories during the season from Assent.

Prediction for the season: Playoffs without doubt, two-three rounds in.

Ideal starting lineup: Soul Preacher, BESTMAN 4, Chronic, Aggro

Birds of Prey
Preseason record: 3-0
Victories against: arwing (12-0), BlackNike (11-4), Timeless (11-8)
Losses to: NONE
Friendly MVPs: designator 3:0, COJONES!! 3:0, Dagger 4:2

Comments: Birds of Prey are returning once again. A lot of time has already passed since El Tigro left the squad and BoP's still looking stronger than ever... or they did right before splitting up to AML and IML squads. The losses of designator, Dagger, Cojones!!, Disorientation and the new recruits from Ferrum Don Cherry and LuRp to the squad's IML team has left the AML squad without a decent starting lineup and very little bench. Birds of Prey had a solid preseason with good victories over arwing, BlackNike and Timeless. I was expecting a good playoff run, but they obviously they'll have a hard time even making the playoffs this season with the AML squad basically left with the scraps of the former roster... well, I could mention Sacred Remedy as a decent pilot, but he'll certainly be very alone with only a little support provided from Mitshubishi J2m Raid and Speed. Maybe the squad's real ambition is based in IML ... sure looks like it.

Prediction for the season: The playoff line'll be very hard to catch.

Ideal starting lineup: Scared Remedy, Speed, Mitsubishi J2m Raid, Agent

BlackNike
Preseason record: 2-1
Victories against: BUNNER (12-0), OldShift (12-5)
Losses to: Birds of Prey (4-11)
Friendly MVPs: EthanHunt ?:?, stool 7:0

Comments: BlackNike, the winner of AML season seven is now back in AML after a fairly disappointing IML season. They've got a roster which resembles their championship season quite a bit. I think BlackNike's looking pretty strong with EthanHunt, SonyRed and the white rose returning with the squad. They've also added players like Super.Fly and Felony to their roster. BlackNike's preseason was all good except for the tiny slipup with Birds of Prey in a very good match, which could've gone either way. I didn't really expect BlackNike to beat OldShift, but they obviously proved me wrong by winning 12-5. BlackNike's looking all set for another big playoff run this season and they shouldn't be disregarded in any "Who will win AML?" conversation.

Prediction for the season: I don't think BlackNike'll win their second AML championship this season. A round two-three playoff run is quite possible.

Ideal starting lineup: Super.Fly, EthanHunt, Stool, SonyRed

Blitzed
Preseason record: 1-2
Victories against: Warlords (12-6)
Losses to: Liquid Inc. (7-12), Alcoholism (9-12)
Friendly MVPs: Tarrant 4:1

Comments: Blitzed returns to AML for another season. Last season they made the playoffs and were one of the few squads that actually beat Dissent. However, their playoff run was cut short, as they were immediately cut out of any future matches by the now disbanded No Data. Blitzed's preseason was passable with two close losses to Liquid Inc. and Alcoholism and a 12-6 victory over Warlords. The activeness, or inactiveness, of the squad's starters has always been a vital element in Blitzed's gameplay. They've once again returned with a roster full of talent ... ChronicFlash has been one of the most symphatetic players to spectate for the past seasons, you never know if he's going to MVP or choke out when the score's 3-0. Madboy, morphine, Plumpy, Pretty Hate Machine- and White_Devil are all familiar from Blitzed's past seasons and Snow Jr. is a seasoned AML/IML veteran with quite a few ex-squads, but after a long league career, it isn't a wonder, hell, I've got many myself. Let's hope Snow'll fit in Blitzed well. Blitzed's probably looking for a similar season to last one. They'll start relatively slow and build up for the playoffs to clinch their spot in the top sixteen pretty late and then come in for a big playoff run ... just to get eliminated by a bigger team.

Prediction for the season: Playoffs as long as the squad's starters remain active enough.

Ideal starting lineup: ChronicFlash, Pretty Hate Machine-, morphine, Tarrant

BUNNER
Preseason record: 1-2
Victories against: arwing (1-0)
Losses to: BlackNike (0-12), Alcoholism (1-12)
Friendly MVPs: NONE

Comments: Bunner back once again, the season has potential. Bunner's been around for the past ... well, I'll say 5+ seasons since I can't remember that far back. The squad's made the playoffs once, otherwise it's been a pretty dry history. Who remembers tritoch and Noobed scoring all the kills when they made the playoffs? It wasn't even that far back ... season VI, was it? Anyways, this preseason Bunner scored a victory ... a noshow one, against arwing. Besides that they scored a single kill in two matches as they lost 0-12 to BlackNike and 1-12 to Alcoholism. Predicting Bunner is always hard, as no one wants to be a Bunner-hater ... anyone remember Antibunnerstalker? Heh, good times ... Anyway ... the squad's of course captained by tritoch, 0-3toch is this season's choice of nicknames. A BIG NEWBIE makes a comeback. I still remember him from Unforeseen a few seasons back. He wasn't very active last season, but his activity is imperative for Bunner's success this season. I could mention a couple other names from the squad's roster, but I can't be bothered. Obviously Bunner'll win the championship this season if they just want.

Prediction for the season: Don't try to predict the unpredictable.

Ideal starting lineup: 0-3toch, A BIG NEWBIE, Demon, Suppoko

Corrupt
Preseason record: 2-1
Victories against: 7rominence (12-2), ElementalForces (12-5)
Losses to: Epik (9-12)
Friendly MVPs: KyleC. 5:0, KyleC. 4:0

Comments: I kind of liked the name Aboncto Pestis ... it was a source of comedy in the league ref chat throughout the season. Well, now NightBane's back as Corrupt with ... gasp, very little aliases. I used to play war zone, but most of these guys are still unknown to me. They've probably appeared well after I moved on ... Obviously we'll get to know everyone better as the season progresses. Well. Corrupt's preseason recorded a fairly easy 2-1 with victories over the weak 7rominence and ElementalForces. They did lose to Epik and while that's not a bad squad, it does make me wonder if Corrupt's going to be a real challenger this season.

Prediction for the season:

Ideal starting lineup: Onlyone, Cashew, KyleC., darc

ElementalForces
Preseason record: 1-2
Victories against: 7rominence (12-5)
Losses to: Epik (1-12), Corrupt (5-12)
Friendly MVPs: Trigger Happy 4:1

Comments: ElementalForces is one of the new squads to league and it looks like they're in for a tough season. The relatively small amount of new squads does make surviving a bit harder than what it has been in the past. Of course harder matches are better for improving, but they can be a motivation-killer for a new league squad. ElementalForces beat 7rominence in preseason and lost to Epik and Corrupt. With those results, I'd rank them in the top of the lower ranked squads, which would mean ranking around 22nd-25th in the end of the season. We'll see how the squad does.

Prediction for the season: Fairly low in the league. A couple of good matches against squads in the middle part of the league.

Ideal starting lineup: SkyOne, Trigger Happy, Ultra Nova, War Path

Epik
Preseason record: 3-0
Victories against: ElementalForces (12-1), Corrupt (12-9), Afterglow (12-8)
Losses to: NONE
Friendly MVPs: Wado Kai ?:?, E|A|R ?:?, Tioga 4:1

Comments: Epik scored a 3-0 preseason record? Really didn't see that coming. Sure, their preseason wasn't as hard as some other teams', but Corrupt and Afterglow aren't bad squads by anyone's standards. The core of the squad has played together for many seasons and I'm guessing that'll be one of their biggest strenghts this season and in the future too. They don't have any big stars, but the squad plays a solid team game week after week. It won't win them championships, but maybe that isn't a problem. I won't go through the squad's players, as pretty much everyone on the roster is decent and well capable of winning matches. The talent's spread out a lot in this squad and the day's form will greatly affect Epik's level of play. Of course they'll make the playoffs. Their history demands a playoff spot. Playoffs. Ok.

Prediction for the season: Probably a first round playoff squad around the seeds 13-16.

Ideal starting lineup: Tioga, Abbreviator, E|A|R, passplay

Fighting Foodons
Preseason record: 1-2
Victories against: Secret (10-9)
Losses to: Victimise (7-10), Heaven (0-12)
Friendly MVPs: Sgt. Side Order 4:2

Comments: Another season, another new alias theme for the good old BiP team. Terrier Terrors, who we played against with four leviathans back in DragonWings and lost badly and claimed it to have been "just for fun". Last season it was Fly-N-Death with a bunch of new nicknames ... an idea which ended up backfiring in playoffs against good ol' StarFire Elite. Fighting Foodons ... well, at least it's original. Their success, of course, depends greatly on how active they are and serious they are. I'm expecting a season of mixed results with a round one playoff exit.

Prediction for the season: Round one in the playoffs.

Ideal starting lineup: Shrimp Daddy, Sgt. Side Order, Grills Gone Wild!, Sir Dumpling

Happy Mob
Preseason record: 2-0-1
Victories against: Thalion (12-4), Assent (12-7)
Losses to: NONE
Ties with: Heaven (8-8)
Friendly MVPs: crumbs ?:?, UB-40 5:1

Comments: Many, many squads have done the ringer-recruiting to win AML before. Some have succeeded, some have completely destroyed themselves. Unforeseen comes to mind as a succesfull squad ... they ended up winning on their fourth or so attempt. Unsuccesfull ones ... well, anyone remember Spy Guys? It's hard to say how well Happy Mob'll do this season. The squad might detoriate midway, or they might go all the way. Their preseason match against Heaven showed that the squad's not unbeatable. I expect Happy Mob to start off strong and clinch a playoff spot early in the season. After that it all depends on how active the squad is. To be frank, I think the whole squad's performance is completely based on bhang's performance. If bhang goes inactive, the squad'll fall apart.

Prediction for the season: Playoffs.

Ideal starting lineup: bhang, Sancio, Symbsters, UB-40

Heaven
Preseason record: 2-0-1
Victories against: Tweaked (11-2), Fighting Foodons (12-0)
Losses to: NONE
Ties with: Happy Mob (8-8)
Friendly MVPs: DeathKnight 4:0, Selso 5:0

Comments: Last season's semi-finalists return with a very different roster. The squad has split between AML and IML, which has been a trend for bigger squads lately. Heaven scored a solid 2-0-1 preseason record, but their opponents weren't really top AML quality squads except for Happy Mob. The 8-8 tie between Heaven and Happy Mob does make things very interesting, as the very top squads in this season's AML seem to be very equal and making differences will be very hard. Heaven is stacked with a lot of seasoned league players such as DeathKnight, Selso, hydro, Black Assassin and so on. There's no denying the obvious amount of talent stacked in this squad and they'll certainly be one of the top rung contenders this season. Only the next four-five months will tell how far Heaven can go this season. I'm expecting a long playoff run.

Prediction for the season: Deep in to playoffs.

Ideal starting lineup: DeathKnight, Scythe, Black Assassin, Selso

Hit-N-Run
Preseason record: 3-0
Victories against: OldGermany (1-0), Money $hot (12-0), Smirnoff (9-1)
Losses to: NONE
Friendly MVPs: Spongebob ?:?, Ethical 3:0

Comments: Hit-N-Run is one of the big suprises of preseason in AML season IX. They had an easy schedule though, so don't place your bets on the 3-0 squad just yet. The match against OldGermany was an expected noshow victory, Money $hot ... well, no idea what happened in that match and Smirnoff was a 4v3. The regular season will show how good Hit-N-Run actually are.

Prediction for the season: Very hard to say. I'm expecting a no-playoff season, but this squad can prove me wrong.

Ideal starting lineup: Darks Defender, SpongeBob..., Ethical, Infantryman

Liquid Inc.
Preseason record: 3-0
Victories against: Blitzed (12-7), Warlords (12-4), Wretcheds (12-8)
Losses to: NONE
Friendly MVPs: more majorum ?:?, (unknown), more majorum 6:0

Comments: SabreTooth's team return for their third (I think) AML season. They've improved steadily and were a solid playoff squad last season, scoring some big victories in the regular season. Liquid Inc.'s core is made of ex-RAF players and as we all know, RAF was a decent Pro squad in it's prime time. The biggest difference is the lack of ZombieBobie, but that doesn't make Liquid Inc. bad. They've had a preseason without a single loss, scoring a 3-0 record with victories over Blitzed, Warlords and Wretcheds. Maybe they had an easier schedule than some other squads, but a 3-0's never easy to reach. I'm expecting Liquid Inc. to play a good season and make it one or two rounds in to the playoffs.

Prediction for the season: One or two rounds in to the playoffs.

Ideal starting lineup: Faid, Rane!, ForMeToPoopOn, more majorum

Money $hot
Preseason record: 1-2
Victories against: Murder (1-0)
Losses to: Hit-N-Run (0-12), arwing (1-9)
Friendly MVPs: NONE

Comments: New squads are always welcome to league, you've got to start somewhere. The bad thing is that some squads join the league just to noshow out of the league in the middle of the season when it's basically too late to replace them. I hope Money $hot isn't one of those squads. I don't know a single player from their roster, but I bet they'll gain some public image in the first rounds if they show for matches. Let's wait and see.

Prediction for the season: Struggling near the bottom. Hopefully they'll stay alive throughout the season.

Ideal starting lineup: I really can't say :(

OldShift
Preseason record: 1-2
Victories against: Secret (11-9)
Losses to: Victimise (3-12), BlackNike (5-12)
Friendly MVPs: jaakko 4:1

Comments: Apriori's been working hard. First he introduced MasterRater and now OldShift. It's basically some Redshift players and some new recruits, basically the Redshift's AML squad. They did a 1-2 preseason with a 11-9 win over Secret and then a 3-12 loss to Victimise and 5-12 to BlackNike. It's hard to guess what to expect from OldShift. They've got a roster that's capable of making the playoffs, but how serious will their ex-Pro/IML players take this season? Jaakko for example. He hasn't played league for a couple of seasons, but we all remember him from such Pro squads as B.I.A. and EGO. The squad's performance is greatly affected by their starting lineup and activity. I'd expect OldShift to fight around the playoff line for a playoff spot. After that everything's possible.

Prediction for the season: Playoffs around the seeds 13-16. Then maybe a suprisingly long playoff run.

Ideal starting lineup: jaakko, Shikaa, Street Fighter, Cerium

Secret
Preseason record: 1-2
Victories against: Victimise (12-6)
Losses to: OldShift (9-11), Fighting Foodons (9-10)
Friendly MVPs: El Tigro 4:1

Comments: Secret, the long-time IML squad split up to two different squads for this season and their AML squad's full of players with dozens of seasons of league experience from all kinds of leagues. Players like Ankh and W a v e have had long careers already, but suprisingly little ex-squads. Maybe it's because they've been on Secret for the past seasons and Secret's one of the oldest surviving squads around. Secret's preseason was a 1-2 with a suprising victory over Victimise and close losses to OldShift and Fighting Foodons. Secret's obviously a squad which's matches will be fun to spectate with a whole lot of kills scored by both teams. Secret ... well, they've got a good shot at making the playoffs, but beyond that it doesn't look very promising in this season's tough AML. We'll wait and see.

Prediction for the season: Playoffs round one.

Ideal starting lineup: Ankh, W a v e, Who?, Vaal'Enga

Smirnoff
Preseason record: 0-3
Victories against: NONE
Losses to: Warlords (6-12), Tweaked (1-12), Hit-N-Run (1-9)
Friendly MVPs: NONE

Comments: Well, a new squad from Trench Wars is what I see here. Smirnoff's preseason was 0-3 with losses to Warlords, Tweaked and Hit-N-Run. The biggest problem I see is that they failed to show four against Hit-N-Run and had to play with three. I fear that Smirnoff is one of the squads that'll have trouble fielding four in the matches during regular season, but hopefully they'll prove me wrong. This season will obviously be a season for learning the fine arts of 4v4 leagueplay for Smirnoff. I hope these rookies can make it past it.

Prediction for the season: Around the bottom of the league.

Ideal starting lineup: Raspi, Blood, Mythrandir, Nickname

StarFire Elite
Preseason record: 1-2
Victories against: Assent (12-4)
Losses to: Timeless (8-12), Thalion (6-12)
Friendly MVPs: The Deist- 5:1

Comments: StarFire Elite actually made the finals last season. They'd have done a lot better too if that newbie Mauler hadn't started. Obviously this'll be an interesting season for the squad, as always. Our roster's looking quite solid with the addition of Lensman, one of the more active pilots from No Data. I, naturally, wish all the best for my squad this season, you're a great bunch and I know I'll always have a place to return to.

Prediction for the season: Ranks 1-28

Ideal starting lineup: Whoever shows.

Thalion
Preseason record: 1-2
Victories against: StarFire Elite (12-6)
Losses to: Happy Mob (4-12), Assent (7-12)
Friendly MVPs: Miasaka 4:0

Comments: Thalion only beat StarFire Elite in preseason and if the only win you get is against SFE, then things can't be too good. Uhm, Ferrum from last season is returning with a new name and a fairly renewed roster. The squad seemed pretty stable against StarFire Elite in round three. They did lose to Happy Mob and Assent during the preseason, but those are two top-rung squads. The losses of Medicus and Zash to Afterglow and LuRp and Don Cherry to Birds of Prey have left Thalion is a fairly bad position. What's even worse is that the squad's best recruit, ZDeathX, left before preseason round three to join Pro. Thalion lack a very strong starting lineup, although Tenet has done a good job in recruiting new players. Thalion's looking at another hard season which might end in a playoff round one exit.

Prediction for the season: Playoff round one.

Ideal starting lineup: Syntech, Miasaka, nature calls, VIAL

Timeless
Preseason record: 2-1
Victories against: Wretcheds (12-4), StarFire Elite (12-8)
Losses to: Birds of Prey (8-11)
Friendly MVPs: Zealot ?:?, Footsteps 1:0

Comments: Timeless didn't seem all that solid against StarFire Elite and I can't see how a squad that loses to Birds of Prey can claim to be the champions before the season has even begun. Anyway, Timeless had a good preseason with victories over Wretcheds and StarFire Elite. Trying to get around these aliases is too hard for me, so I'll just end things off with a prediction ... I expect a playoff run of two-three rounds.

Prediction for the season: Two-three rounds in to the playoffs.

Ideal starting lineup: Zealot, Hattrick, Footsteps, Lustrous

Tweaked
Preseason record: 2-1
Victories against: Smirnoff (12-1), 7rominence (12-3)
Losses to: Heaven (2-11)
Friendly MVPs: foreign 4:0, Coastal 7:0

Comments: Tweaked has split between AML and IML and their AML roster seems slightly weaker than their IML one. They've got good players like Coastal, Blindsight and Bad-News stacked up in AML and Tweaked shouldn't be dismissed in any squad ranking. Their preseason showed easy victories over Smirnoff and 7rominence and then a bad loss to Heaven. I'd expect Tweaked's regular to look pretty similar. They'll lose to the big squads and easily dispatch the smaller ones. Their final ranking depends completely on how they play against other squads in the middle of the league.

Prediction for the season: Probably a playoff round one exit.

Ideal starting lineup: Blindsight, Bad-News, foreign, Coastal

Victimise
Preseason record: 2-1
Victories against: Fighting Foodons (10-7), OldShift (12-3)
Losses to: Secret (6-12)
Friendly MVPs: Binary ?:?, (unknown)

Comments: Victimise, always hard to predict. They've had some success from time to time in AML and this season doesn't look very different. They've got some excellent Pro recruits in Epinephrine and Binary, but will that be enough? Their roster does look very shallow and I really can't see a long playoff run for Victimise. In preseason they baet Fighting Foodons and OldShift and then lost to Secret. In regular season I expect them to beat most of their opponents, but will obviously lose to the strongest squads.

Prediction for the season: One or two rounds in to the playoffs.

Ideal starting lineup: Epinephrine, Binary, Editor, Devoit

Warlords
Preseason record: 1-2
Victories against: Smirnoff (12-6)
Losses to: Liquid Inc. (4-12), Blitzed (6-12)
Friendly MVPs: Gipsy 3:1

Comments: Warlords have returned for another season. Warlords have been around about as long as Secret and I can't imagine a league without the good old Warlords flying around. Last season was a little disappointing and this season doesn't look that much better. They've picked up Blink-182! from Blitzed and he'll be a valuable fourth for Warlords's starting lineup. Gazelle was excellent in some matches last season and I'm still expecting magneticm to make a big comeback for league after being slightly inactive last season. Gipsy has been the big name in Warlords's preseason and I'll be expecting to see his name more on the MVP list. In preseason Warlords beat Smirnoff and lost to Liquid Inc. and Blitzed. This is probably a good display of what the squad's regular season'll be like. They'll beat weaker squads and lose to the tougher ones. I'm expecting the squad's season to have ended when round thirteen has been played.

Prediction for the season: Slightly below the playoff line.

Ideal starting lineup: Gazelle, magneticm, Gipsy, Blink-182!

Wretcheds
Preseason record: 1-2
Victories against: Afterglow (12-6)
Losses to: Timeless (4-12), Liquid Inc. (8-12)
Friendly MVPs: Perseverance 6:2

Comments: Wretcheds. I hate Wretcheds because I still remember Lamest Duck killing me in CZL once. Err, Wretcheds had a decent last season and now they're returning with a similar roster. They had a 1-2 preseason with a victory over Afterglow and losses to Timeless and Liquid Inc. The squad does have a lot of talent in it's roster. I think 89Sweaper is one of the best players in this season's AML and I really would like to see him on the same lineup with myself. Perseverance and Smash are seasoned SVS veterans and both capable of playing good matches. I think Wretcheds will be fighting along the playoff line and possibly make it to playoffs for a round one exit.

Prediction for the season: Playoffs round one.

Ideal starting lineup: 89Sweaper, Perseverance, Smash, Pretender
