Amateur League Predictions (24.8.2002)
Round 7

Alcoholism vs. Birds of Prey
Mauler's ScoreMaster prediction: Birds of Prey by 9
Alcoholism continues their winless streak through another season, quite as expected. They'll be back next season for more games. This week they face a squad that took five seasons to rise from being a bad squad to being a good squad in AML. This season has been disappointing for Birds of Prey and they will miss out on the playoffs after a good last season. Fatal jumping to Dissent and Dagger in the army has hurt the squad deeply and they've been lackluster this season. Alcoholism challenged Birds of Prey the last time these two squads faced each other, but I expect this time to be different. Alcoholism will put up a good fight, but BoP'll want to end this bad season on a good note with a big victory. They could use the morale boost.
Prediction: Birds of Prey 12-2
Players to watch: SEAL, Salami Swammi

Llamasery vs. Ferrum
Mauler's ScoreMaster prediction: Llamasery by 6
This match depends wholly on which squad cares more about winning an exhibition match. Ferrum tore apart BUNNER last week with a 12-1 victory, but don't make a mistake, BUNNER didn't have their number one lineup present, so Ferrum should still remain a medicore squad in everyone's playoff predictions. No way to tell how this one'll turn out, so I'll stick with my ScoreMaster prediction. Both squads will need the practice since they'll both be in for a lot of tough matches in the playoffs very soon.
Prediction: Llamasery 12-6
Players to watch: Crunchy, Medicus

BUNNER vs. BlackNike
Mauler's ScoreMaster prediction: BlackNike by 5
There is absolutely nothing at stake in this match since it's an exhibition match...or is there? This will be the preview of a match that will probably decide who wins the Gemini division on the postponement round. It's hard to tell what to expect. BUNNER showed that they don't really 'care' for the exhibition match, so they might be underpowered for this match too. Therefore I picked BlackNike to win on the ScoreMaster and I'll follow that here too. I'm really looking forward to next week when these two squads face each other with a whole lot more at stake than bragging rights.
Prediction: BlackNike 12-6
Players to watch: Tritoch, the white rose

)(Master)( vs. No Data
Mauler's ScoreMaster prediction: No Data by 9
No Data took a 5-2 victory against Blasphemy and secured the victory of the Pisces division. Their match against EpiK last week left some big questionmarks in the air. No Data didn't take EpiK a bit seriously, but still took a 7-3 victory. Master challenged No Data the last time these two squads played, but ended up losing bad. I think EpiK is far better than Master, so No Data should win this one easily. I really don't expect either No Data or Blasphemy to go more than two rounds in to the playoffs.
Prediction: No Data 12-2
Players to watch: Wish Master )!(, borAX

Disavowed vs. Starseed
Mauler's ScoreMaster prediction: Disavowed by 5
This is an exhibition match, not the appealed match that'll be replayed next week. Sure, it does appear interesting, but I expect Disavowed to win against Starseed at least twice more this season. Then again, they might use this match to lose badly in order to win next week...psychological warfare so to say. No idea, the clock's 0.10 and I really don't know what more to say.
Prediction: Disavowed 12-5
Players to watch: Kurtz, Reaem

Exodus vs. Blasphemy
Mauler's ScoreMaster prediction: Blasphemy by 11
Blasphemy outclasses No Data by far, so they should be practicing seriously for the playoffs and not goofing around. That means a hard punishment for Exodus...to tell you the truth, even if Blasphemy didn't play this one for real, they'd still win. I hope Exodus'll return next season with a lineup that's more prepeared for leagueplay.
Prediction: Blasphemy 12-0
Players to watch: Cyborg of Death, Matt

Fly-Ndeath vs. Oracle X
Mauler's ScoreMaster prediction: Oracle X by 12
Fly-Ndeath still hasn't challenged a single opponent this season. Last season they had FnS! in their roster, I wonder if he ever played... Oracle X should win this one with 12 points as long as no one chokes badly...that'd be required for a death. It's matches like this where a squadcaptain should field players who usually don't get as much playing time...like AnalIntruder...just to make the game a little more exciting as Oracle X will be forced to play plays 3v4 while 0-3 down...or maybe not.
Prediction: Oracle X 12-0
Players to watch: DBeckham, Anamalech

Warlords vs. Victimise
Mauler's ScoreMaster prediction: Warlords by 6
Warlords won the last time these two squads faced and that settled the playoff race for the fourth spot of Virgo division in favour of Warlords. I bet the guys on Victimise would want a win here to ease the disappointment and to help them get ready for the next season. Victimise will hopefully return next season, their lineup has improved during the season and they'll be a playoff contender next season upon returning. Now it's time to enter the second chance tourney where they'll be one of the top squads.
Prediction: Victimise 12-4
Players to watch: Bad-News, DAW

-BlitZed- vs. EpiK
Mauler's ScoreMaster prediction: EpiK by 7
Well, BlitZed has gone from a playoff squad to a low-level squad. Their gameplay this season has left a lot to desire for. EpiK made it to the playoffs from an easy division. They finished third after No Data and Blasphemy quite as expected. EpiK'll win here but they'll have a tough time making it past round one in the playoffs.
Prediction: EpiK 12-3
Players to watch: ChronicFlash, babyhef

Idiosyncrasy vs. Integral
Mauler's ScoreMaster prediction: Integral by 5
A tough match to predict. This match of course counts to the final standings of the Sagittarius division, so both squads desperately need a win here. It's a very close match and it's hard to tell a real difference between the two squads. It'll all depend on both squads's showing and the good/bad subbing of the captains.
Prediction: Idiosyncrasy 12-6
Players to watch: KrazyKarl, aiti

Nightbane vs. Mutiny
Mauler's ScoreMaster prediction: Mutiny by 10
Hard to say...well, to tell you the truth, it isn't. Mutiny clearly the stronger squad here. Nightbane has been impressive from time to time while Mutiny has struggeled here and there. The ScoreMaster shows 24-1 predictions for Mutiny...and the only player predicting for Nightbane is...Kvath. I think that's all I need to say.
Prediction: Mutiny 12-1
Players to watch: Scipio, ATLAN

Starfire Elite vs. Dissent
Mauler's ScoreMaster prediction: Starfire Elite by 6
My match and I'll be unable to show. I'll keep my thumbs up for SFE.
Prediction: NONE
Players to watch: NONE
